Ballad Made Soba ni Ite (バラードまでそばにいて) is a two-volume early work of Ai Yazawa's. It was first serialized in Ribon. Shueisha published both volumes in 1989 and later republished it along with some other early series in 2008.

SummaryEdit

Hiromi Nomura is an aspiration-less girl who is feeling left behind. One day, she catches a glimpse of her classmate Hiroshi Miyamoto's singing form and is moved by his song. Hiromi had always thought that Miyamoto felt as lost as she did, but it turns out he is aiming to become a professional singer. Hiromi decides that she too will aim to become a singer.[1]

Consists of two volumes published by Shueisha on June 1989, and September 1989. It was serialized in the magazine, Ribon.

In 2008, Ballad Made Soba ni Ite was republished as part of a collection of Ai Yazawa's early works, alongside Kaze ni Nare!, and Usubeni no Arashi. Instead of two volumes it was pubished into only one.
