Sept 1995 issue featuring Gokinjo, Kodocha and Marmalade Boy
Ribon (りぼん) is a monthly Japanese shōjo manga magazine published by Shueisha. First issued in August 1955, its rivals are Nakayoshi and Ciao. Its target audience is young girls roughly 9–13 years old.
Most of Ai Yazawa's works were serialized in Ribon, excluding only Paradise Kiss (Zipper) and Nana (Cookie).
History[]
Ai Yazawa debuted in Ribon's special spring issue with "Ano Natsu." She went on to write several short stories, including 15-nenme, Love Letter, Kaze ni Nare!, Escape, Ballad Made Soba ni Ite, Marine Blue no Kaze ni Dakarete, and Usubeni no Arashi.
Her first major work, Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai began serialization in September 1991. It ended in 1994 with the release of an OVA at Ribon Festival. Her next series, Gokinjo Monogatari ran from 1995 to 1998 with a total of seven volumes. Kagen no Tsuki was her last series to be published in Ribon and ran from 1998 to 1999.
